Zandfontein is located in a beautiful area of the Karoo. Stunning place, peace and quiet, the views unbelievable.
As for Nick the host, such a nice guy, very friendly and helpful with everything.
We enjoyed our stay there with our Blind doggy, was a challenge, but nevertheless…
The swimming pool a big plus, especially in the warm months.
Thank you we will definitely recommend it for a nice relaxing weekend or few days..

Took a motorcycle trip here, and I was blown away by the setup. Beautiful location and stunning setup. The owner greeted us at the gate and was so warm and welcoming. I would definitely recommend a trip here ro escape the city hustle and bustle!

Zandfontein Bush Camp is an absolute gem! The camp is incredibly well-equipped with everything you could possibly need. The campsite itself is stunning and offers a perfect escape from the city.

At Zandfontein Bush Camp, guests can expect a comfortable and serene escape into nature. Upon arrival, you’ll be welcomed into one of four cozy safari tents, each offering a unique blend of rustic charm and modern comfort. The camp features two bathrooms with showers, toilets, and wash basins for your convenience. Enjoy the fully equipped lapa, perfect for cooking and socializing, or relax on the sundeck with a refreshing splash pool, all while taking in the breathtaking views of the Karoo. It’s an ideal spot for a peaceful, nature-filled retreat.

- Accommodation - Self Catering – Adults: R 550-00 per person per night sharing -
- Children age 6 to 16: R 350-00 per child per night.
- Single - Self Catering - R 550-00 per night - Mondays to Thursdays only
- Accommodation – Full Board (3 meals - we provide, guest prepare) – Adults: R 1650-00 per person per night sharing - Children age 6 to 16: R 950-00 per child per night.

- Small Caliber Rifle target shooting – R 200-00 for 10 shots

Conditions of stay: The Safari Tents are leased to groups of minimum 4 and maximum 8 persons (2-4 units) for a minimum of 2 nights.
In order to ensure privacy, we do not, unless pre-arranged, cater for two individual groups at a time.
Single one night bookings available Mondays to Thursdays.
- Self catering – What you bring in, you take out. Self catering Clients must provide their own medical emergency kit, food, water, beverages and an extra blanket in winter. Braaiwood available @ R 75 per 12 kg bag.
- Full Board - Only groups of 4 minimum and maximum 8 persons will be considered. Full Board Clients only need to bring their own alcoholic beverages and an extra blanket in winter.

How to get to us:
Please note that there are gravel roads leading to the accommodation. Guests must please inquire about the condition of the roads before booking. The owner will meet guests at the premises. GPS coordinates to Main Gate: GPS coordinates: -33.560314, 20.706741 Road map coordinates: 33°33'37.1"S 20°42'24.3"E From George Airport via Ladismith: - Leave the airport and head northwest in the direction of Car Rental Returns and drive 240 m; - Turn left onto the R404 and drive 7.6 km; - Keep left to stay in Montagu Street/R404 and follow the R404 for 2 km; - Turn left onto the N12/N9 and drive 18.2 km; - Turn left onto the N12/R62 and drive 34.1 km; - Arrive in Oudtshoorn; - Turn left into Voortrekkerstraat/R62 and follow the R62 for 98.1 km; - Arrive in Ladismith and; - Keep straight to South-street and drive 400 m; - Proceed to Towerkopstraat and drive 220 m; (Contact the Bush Camp via Whats App to let them know you’re leaving Ladismith) - Turn left into Van Riebeeck Street and drive 26.4 km tarmac road; - Leave tarmac and drive a further 7.2 km dirt road (R323); - Turn left at Montagu exit (Quarry hole on the left) and drive 24.7 km; - The destination is on the left hand side at the Game Fence
Gate with Zandfontein Bush Camp signboard where you will be met. From Huguenot Toll Gate Plaza (N1) via Montagu: - Continue on N1 for 23.3 km; - Turn right at the Rawsonville R101 exit and continue straight for 6 km; - Turn right onto Brand Street towards Rawsonville and continue straight for 1.27 km - Turn right into Van Riebeeckstraat at the 4-way stop street; - Continue straight for 12.4 km; - Turn left, drive over the Breë River Bridge before Hekkies campsite entrance and continue straight for 3.15 km; - Turn right onto the R34 and continue straight for 7.2 km; - Turn left onto Overhexpad and continue straight for 6.32 km; - Turn right onto R60 (becomes R62) and continue straight through Robertson, Ashton and Montagu for 65.9 km; (Contact the Bush Camp via WhatsApp to let them know you are leaving Montagu) - Turn left at Talana turnoff (1.5 km from Spar store); - Continue straight for 1.55 km and turn left onto Ladismith/Touwsrivier dirt road; - Continue straight for 79.6 km; - The destination is on the right hand side at the Game Fence

From Worcester via De Doorns:
- N1 past Worcester for 22.20 km to De Doorns;
- From Engine garage exit at De Doorns keep on N1 for 9 km and turn right onto R318 towards Montagu:
- Drive 26.70 km on the tarmac road and turn left onto dirt road to Nougatspoort/Leeuwenboschfontein;
- Drive 19.5 km to T junction and turn right towards Ladismith/Montagu;
- Drive 31.50 km and turn left at T-junction towards Ladismith;
- Drive for 49.10 km to our Game Fenced gate on the right hand side where you will be met.
From Laingsburg:
- In Laingsburg take R323 tarmac road and drive East to Ladismith for 22 km and;
- Turn right on dirt road to Ladismith;
- Drive 40 km and take Montagu turn off to your right (Quarry at the turn off);
- Drive 25 km to our Game Fenced gate on the left hand side where you will be met.
- From Barrydale:
- From the Caltex Garage in Barrydale, follow the R62 for 27.5 km;
- Turn left at the Plathuis turnoff;
- Continue straight on the gravel road for 28.2 km and turn left at T junction;
- Drive 17.4 km to our gate on LEFT where you will be met.
Hunting Tariffs and T's & C's:
We are now closed for hunting from 01 September 2024 till 14 April 2025. Springbuck and Ostrich hunts still available. (Contact us to arrange a hunt) We prefer walk and stalk hunting with silenced rifles.

R 995.00 pppn - Accommodation, Carcass skinning, Guide, day costs and vehicle fees included. PH Fee R1750.00 extra per day for groups 5 hunters and more. No hidden costs. Just bring your own food, beverages, towels and toiletries. 12kg. Braaiwood bags available @ R 50 per bag

NB!:
Any game wounded will be deemed hunted and the full value of it will be payable. Any hit heard or blood, bones, hide, meat or hair which is found will be seen as proof that an animal was indeed hit. Finding wounded animals is the responsibility of the the hunter and can be aided by the guides at an extra fee negotiated with the guides. The Professional Hunter shall have the right to shoot any wounded game.
Please note:
- Hunting area approximately 600 hectares with flat areas, hills, ravines and wooded river area. There are enough larger Karoo type trees and bushes to be able to stalk and hunt successful.
- Hunters must show their ability to shoot by firing maximum 4 shots at a 150mm diameter round target at 100 meters. At least 3 shots must be within the target.
- Hunters must be 13 years and older.
- All hunters should preferably have previous hunting experience.
- Hunted and skinned carcasses are hung in a secured shade cloth ventilated enclosure. No cooling facilities.
- Please read: Cape Nature Hunting Notice and Guide for Hunters in The Western Cape
- For your own and our peace of mind we strongly recommend that you are in possession of a Cape Nature Hunting License - Online Application here - If you should get stopped by Officials while transporting Game Carcasses and you are not in possession of a valid Hunting License, there might be dire consequences for the Hunter as well as the Farm. - Farm will provide Proof of Hunt and Transport Permit.
